What’s the Difference between Greek Yogurt and Regular Yogurt?

Greek YogurtGreek yogurt is superior to regular yogurt in many ways. First, for a similar calorie count, Greek yogurt contains almost twice the protein as regular yogurt and the carbohydrate content is much lower making it a great choice for diabetic patients. Another benefit is that Greek yogurt has much thicker consistency making it a perfect substitute for sour cream or mayonnaise in recipes. The thicker consistency is due to being strained through cheesecloth three times instead of two like regular yogurt during the manufacturing process. Because of this thicker consistency, there are more probiotics in Greek yogurt than in regular yogurt. Probiotics have significant digestive health benefits.
