Yes, it’s spring, which means it’s time to fine-tune your Bridge Run training and/or try to outrun the pollen. But not tomorrow. Tomorrow, March 21, is a day to take it down a notch. To walk. Slowly. Mindfully. With awareness of the millions of people around the world who walk two to three miles a day, not to meet their FitBit target, but to get water. And often that water they WALK to get and then carry back to their family is dirty and unsafe.
Roper St. Francis is a proud sponsor of the 2015 Walk for Water, to help fund the work of Water Missions International to provide safe, clean water to thousands of communities around the globe. Help us improve the health and livelihood of these people – these people with children, and names, and dreams and hopes, and thirsts, just like you and me.
Think about how many times a day you turn the tap and take for granted the refreshing flow of drinkable water. Think about making a difference.
So far the Roper St. Francis “River Rats” team has raised more than $5,200 for tomorrow’s event. We’d love for you to join us. Onsite registration is at Brittlebank Park on Lockwood Boulevard starting at 8 a.m. Right by our beautiful waterfront. Yes, water, water everywhere, for everyone. It’s within our reach, and our walk.
